Edward Hopper: witness of a past America

This painter and engraver was one of the famous representatives of naturalism in the States. Edward Hopper (1882-1967) has always tried to represent in his works the daily life of the American middle class. His characters are most of the time melancholic, lonely, staring into space. Edward Hopper has expressed an undeniable nostalgia about the past America. He leaves behind him very beautiful works of art.
