Chronicles of a Ludovidog: Part three
Hello my fellow countrydogs,
I heard that we are in a new year now; all humans meet and say the same formula “Happy New Year”. Then they warmly laugh and kiss on both cheeks. In spite of the fact that I really don’t understand what that means and that forces me to break up my walk, there is such a good mood and such a hope in these blowups that it makes me so happy: I was wagging my tail and I was trying to jump in order to give people a little lick, my way to participate to these demonstrations of friendship.
My master often says that she loves this period because humans give the impression to need these occasions that they call holidays to show each other a mutual affection. They wish a Merry Christmas, then a Happy New Year, and then comes Mardi Gras, children dress up and I’m a little afraid. Then come Easter, spring, and the return of sunny days restores a natural good mood…except when it’s raining!

This is very difficult to understand for a little ludovidog who only lives one day at a time, with no notion of past and future. Honestly, this spirit restriction is sometimes nice. We really feel that our humans are often nervous, stressed, tired. They worry about everything, they are scared of future, and it depends on our welfare. We respect and admire them for the courage that they show everyday.
So, human friends, I want to say that me, Scoop the ludovidog, I couldn’t always love you, but I love you everyday !
Happy New Year
