“The great lady of dutch photography” at Jeu de Paume!
The little known but very talented Eva Besnyö will make you capsize with her first french retrospective at the Jeu de Paume! You’ll discover throughout 120 photographs the emancipation of a woman that left her home country, Hungary, in 1930 to discover Berlin, a democratic metropolis. This jewish woman, fleeting the nazi regime, living in clandestineness, makes you feel with a lot of honesty, the daily life and the street riots of this time. Her humanist and neorealist art in black and white equally shows without mushiness, her kids, the architectural houses, or even the seaside. A touching exhibition to discover urgently!
