The love for Paris in music
We all have in mind something that reminds us of Paris! Until the end of July, the Galerie des Bibliothèques pays tribute to the chanson française (or French song), the one that speaks without restraint, with spite and love for the city of light! From Henri Salvador to Barbara, from Vanessa Paradis to Léo Ferré, more than 400 songs are shown here, and 200 of them can be listened to thanks to an interactive booth by Deezer. There, we discover the psychology of Parisians, the metro or the nightly pleasures of one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Just like George Gershwin said “There are only two subjects possible for a song: Paris and love”. This way, bridges, docks and the Seine are sung to because of their beauty and their romanticism, inevitably taking us to our beautiful Ile St Louis…You cannot miss this exhibition under any pretext!
